The Priory of New South Wales comprising mainly Knights and Dames of Honour as well as Serving Brothers and Sisters is part of a worldwide network of Priories and Commanderies representing the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller (OSJ). A Constitution granted by King Peter II of Yugoslavia in 1963, sets out the general aims of the Order, which are essentially ecumenical, the Order being committed to charitable works in aid of the sick, poor and the disadvantaged, and fostering Christian unity.

The Priory is an independent Priory within the Grand Magisterium of the Order based in London with HRH Prince Karl Vladimir Karajorgevitch of Yugoslavia as the Grand Master.

The Order in Australia is recognised as a non-Government charitable institution, with donations over $2 being tax deductible. Donations can be forwarded to The OSJ Treasurer, Independent Priory of New South Wales, C/- P.O. Box 192 Penshurst, NSW, 2222.

The Priory of NSW currently has 45 members and meets quarterly, on the second Wednesday, the Prior being Chevalier Fred Maestrelli, GCSJ. A Newsletter is published quarterly for information of members.
